For more than 4,500 years, since around 2600 BC, the Pyramids Complex of Giza has remained standing, offering a vivid glimpse into the glory of the Old Kingdom era.
Built around 2570 BC by King Khufu of the 4th dynasty, this towering monument — standing at 147 meters (481 ft) — is the only one of the ancient world's Seven Wonders still largely intact. It was constructed as Khufu's eternal resting place.
Carved from a single massive block of limestone, the Sphinx combines the face of King Khafre (2558–2532 BC) with the body of a lion, making it one of the most enigmatic monuments on earth.
Built by Khafre, this temple served as a sacred site for honoring the royal figures of the 4th dynasty and carrying out the mummification process. Constructed from fine granite, it still features some striking statues today.

The Great Temple commemorates his victory at the Battle of Kadesh in 1274 BC and pays tribute to the gods Ra-Horakhty, Ptah, and Amun, while the smaller temple was dedicated to his beloved wife, Queen Nefertari.
Head back to Aswan to enjoy a delicious lunch at a restaurant overlooking the Nile.
